Welcome to island Šolta
Šolta is famous for its olive trees, some older than thousand years, owned by local families, honey, and wine making traditions. Olive harvest takes place from mid-October to the end of November and is an experience of a lifetime. Every olive is handpicked and cold pressed in the mill to make the superb quality olive oil. The harvest of a dark red indigenous wine variety called Dobričić starts at the end of August and stretches to mid-September. Beekeeping and production of the honey are one of the oldest traditions of the island and wild rosemary honey is well known for its healing properties.
